Matt Dooley kicks off 2024 season with Crate Racin' USA at East Bay Raceway Park
Matt Dooley opened up his racing season on Thursday afternoon at East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Fla.) for the first night of the Clay by the Bay.
Joined by 90 other Crate Racin' USA Late Models, Dooley started 16th in the first preliminary feature and marched towards the front before a flat tire derailed his charge. Dooley was scored 14th in the final rundown.
Hoping for better luck in Friday's $1,000-to-win prelim, Matt qualified much better and landed on the podium in third behind Kyle Hardy and Will Roland.
Locking himself into Saturday' $5,000-to-win finale through a B-Main, Dooley rolled off 19th before discovering a mechanical issue just one lap into the main event which resulted in a DNF.
